All new construction needs a building permit, and any improvement over $2,000.00 requires a building permit. You will also need a permit for driveways, house moving, and burning. See the Forms & Permits page for details.

The Town of Richmond does not have a compost site. The City of New Richmond site is limited to City residents only. There is a compost site in Roberts, WI that accepts yard waste, brush, and wood debris.
Property tax bills are mailed in mid-December. The first half is due January 31 of the following year, and the second half is due July 31. Town of Richmond property tax bills are collected by the St. Croix County Treasurer.

Dogs are required to have a dog license. Rabies vaccination certificates are required before a license is issued. $10 - male or female; $5-neutered male or spayed female. Dog license applications are mailed with property tax bills. They can also be downloaded here.
