RESOLUTION 2025-02

RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF THE TOWN OF ERIN PRAIRIE AND THE TOWN OF HAMMOND

WHEREAS, the Town of Richmond would like to recognize that municipalities and residents of municipalities should have their voices acknowledged in negotiations with clean energy providers; and

WHEREAS, the Town of Erin Prairie and the Town of Hammond are facing the possibility of a large solar project proposed by Xcel Energy entitled the Ten Mile Creek Solar Project that will if approved change the economic and physical landscape of the Towns for decades to come; and

WHEREAS, the Town of Richmond would like to acknowledge the very difficult position of the Town of Erin Prairie and the Town of Hammond in their efforts to balance landowner rights with concerned area residents and express the Town of Richmond’s support for its neighboring communities;

NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved that:

• The Town of Richmond Board expresses its continued support for the Town of Erin Prairie and the Town of Hammond in any discussions, negotiations and decisions regarding the Ten Mile Creek Solar Project.
• The Town of Richmond Board expresses its continued support for the residents of the Town of Erin Prairie and the Town of Hammond and desires that the voices of those landowners and residents be heard in any discussions with St. Croix County, the State of Wisconsin Public Service Commission and Xcel Energy.
• The Town of Richmond Board expresses its support for whatever actions the Town of Erin Prairie and the Town of Hammond decide to take to support the best interests of the landowners and residents of their respective Towns.
